Job Summary:

The Department of Psychiatry has an opening for a part-time, 0.3 FTE Faculty role with Faculty Staff Mental Health (FSMH). This faculty will join our current FSMH team which includes psychiatrists and therapists. FSMH, located in the Anschutz Health Science Building on the AMC, is a clinical service in operation since 2021. We provide and coordinate mental health and wellness services to more than 10,000 faculty and staff across the AMC in Aurora, Colorado.
The University of Colorado School of Medicine invites nominations and applications for a 0.3 FTE Clinical Instructor at Faculty Staff Mental Health. The primary role of this position is to provide direct patient care including initial evaluations and ongoing medication management and psychotherapy for faculty/staff on the Anschutz Medical Campus. This position participates in outreach efforts on campus and consultation to faculty, including the development of wellness talks and courses related to FSMH.

Key Responsibilities:
- Provide direct patient care including initial evaluations and ongoing medication management, individual psychotherapy, and group psychotherapy for faculty/staff on the Anschutz Medical Campus.
- Perform initial diagnostic interviews, develop and follow through with a treatment plan, and maintain appropriate documentation through the electronic medical record.
- Carry own caseload and work with patients through telehealth/face to face depending on the needs of our patients
- Identify when patients may move on from our treatment service as they complete care, end their employment on AMC, transition back to primary care, or need specialty or long- term services located in the community.
- Liaison with mental health services on campus or primary/specialty medical services may be required.
- Collaboration with other areas on campus or faculty/staff may be required.
- Participation in outreach efforts on campus and consultation to faculty, including the development of wellness talks and courses related to FSMH

Work Location:
Hybrid - this role is eligible for a hybrid schedule of 2-3 days per week on campus and as needed for in-person meetings.

Qualifications:
Minimum Qualifications:
Applicants must meet minimum qualifications at the time of hire.
The ranks are based on how many years a candidate has been licensed and if they want to pursue the promotions track. Academic rank will be determined during the interview process after discussion between you and the department about your previous experience and academic desires.
This is an open rank position and could be categorized as Clinical Instructor or Senior Clinical Instructor based on experience and qualifications as indicated below:
Clinical Instructor:
- 1-3 years of related clinical experience at rank or equivalent experience.
- Graduate of an accredited school of nursing with a Masters degree in Nursing and/or a graduate of an accredited Physician Assistant program (NP/APN or PA)
- Current license to practice as an Advanced Practice Nurse and/or Physician Assistant with prescriptive privileges.
- Meets and maintains specific requirements of the Nursing Credential Review Board (Nurse Practitioner) and the Medical Review Board (Physician Assistant).
Sr. Clinical Instructor:
- 1-3 years of related clinical experience at rank or equivalent experience.
- Graduate of an accredited school of nursing with a Masters degree in Nursing and/or a graduate of an accredited Physician Assistant program (NP/APN or PA)

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
To be successful in this position, candidates will need the following:
- Must be knowledgeable about student mental health and substance use issues.
- Ability to demonstrate sensitivity to cultural diversity and work effectively with a diverse population of staff, faculty, and patients.
- Must have skills in risk assessment, including suicide and violence risk assessment.
- Expertise in clinical assessment and therapeutic interventions with individuals, couples, families, and groups.
- Demonstrated knowledge and understand of primary care-behavioral health integrated programs, including fundamental elements of co-located and/or fully integrated services.
- Must be comfortable with case management and coordination of care.
- Must be able to triage effectively. Should provide short term care for acute stabilization of needs and provide appropriate referrals as needed.
- Must be efficient with time management with the ability to see many students in a row if needed or to use time constructively for administrative or outreach work if no students are waiting for evaluation.
- Must be comfortable developing wellness programs that promote mental health education, suicide prevention and stress management, and must be confident to adapt these presentations to fit the request of the campus partner.
- Must have strong public speaking skills.
- Strong computer skills with the ability to learn and use an EMR.
- Experience with telehealth appointments.

Anticipated Pay Range:
The starting salary range (or hiring range) for this position has been established as HIRING RANGE:
Clinical Instructor: $36,000 - $41,100
Sr. Clinical Instructor: $36,000 - $41,100
The above salary range (or hiring range) represents the University's good faith and reasonable estimate of the range of possible compensation at the time of posting. This position is not eligible for overtime compensation unless it is non-exempt.
