Northeastern University Pharmaceutical Industry Fellowships Program is a two-year experiential program designed to advance lifelong learning and the education and training of Pharm.D. graduates. Critical to the success of the program is our ability to prepare Fellows to meet the ongoing workforce needs in various areas of industry.

Our program gives fellows an opportunity to work with our innovative biopharmaceutical industry partners while collaborating with Northeastern University faculty in professional and career development, service, scholarship, and teaching.

In partnership with Northeastern University, Braeburn Inc is offering a two-year Medical Affairs PharmD fellowship based in Boston, Massachusetts or Plymouth Meeting, PA.

Braeburn and Northeastern University are proud to announce a 24-month fellowship with Braeburn designed to provide pharmacists with a broad exposure to the area of Medical Affairs. The two-years Medical Affairs Fellowship provides an opportunity to learn the skills and experiences necessary to excel as a pharmacist in Medical Affairs, a key function in any biopharmaceutical company.

The Medical Affairs fellow will support all areas of Medical Affairs within Braeburn. The fellow will develop extensive hands-on experience and have responsibilities within medical information, medical communications, publications, field-based medical affairs, promotional review, HEOR/ real-world evidence (RWE) data generation, project management, research and educational grants, training, conference planning, and advisory boards. Additional opportunities to develop skills outside of medical affairs (e.g. business development, clinical development, regulatory affairs, pharmacovigilance) may be available.

The fellow's portfolio will span across Braeburn's pipeline and marketed products.

Braeburn was founded in 2012 and is a small privately held pharmaceutical company located in Plymouth Meeting, PA. Braeburn is dedicated to delivering solutions for people living with the serious consequences of opioid use disorder. Responsibilities:

Fellowship responsibilities include but are not limited to:

Scientific knowledge: Develop and maintain a broad knowledge of medical, scientific and technical information for therapeutic area and product portfolio, becoming a scientific expert.
Medical information: Support the medical information department by responding to medical information inquiries as requested.
Medical communications/publications: Assist with creation, update, and review of key medical communication and publications deliverables, such as FAQs, Medicaid submission testimonies, AMCP dossiers, scientific abstracts, scientific posters, medical science liaison (MSL) resources (e.g. slide decks), standard response letters, content for Advisory Boards, and content for internal training, based on business need.
Field medical affairs: Assist with identifying appropriate regional Key Opinion Leaders (KOLs) and Healthcare Professionals (HCPs) with which to develop professional relationships to ensure exchange of medical-scientific information relevant to Braeburn products and areas of therapeutic interest. Support the gathering and communication of actionable, strategy-aligned insights from scientific, educational, and conference setting interactions.
Promotional review: Support the evaluation and review of promotional materials, ensuring that materials are strategically aligned, medically accurate, and supported by appropriate data.
HEOR/RWE: Support HEOR/RWE data generation activities as requested, including study design and conduct.
Project management: Ensure consistent cross-functional communication and collaboration on ongoing projects and project updates with key stakeholders internally and externally.
Medical Review: Submit materials for review by the medical review committee.
Grants: Manage research and investigational grant review process as requested.
Training: Deliver approved educational programs and training to relevant internal and external stakeholders.
Conference planning: Review conference agenda and ensure session and medical affairs booth coverage. Identify additional conferences of interest.
Medical Advisory Boards: Planning, designing and managing or participating in local, regional, national and global medical Advisory Boards including working with vendor(s) in support of Medical Affairs strategies.
Business Development: Support activities including evaluation of product profiles, competitive landscape analysis, and disease state research as requested.

Qualifications:

Doctor of Pharmacy degree from an ACPE accredited institution, eligible for licensure as a pharmacist in the US.

Excellent oral and written communication, time management, and leadership skills, ability to work independently and take initiative on a variety of projects at the industry site and Northeastern.
