Instructional Lab Coordinator-Emergency Medical Services (EMS)

LOCATION: 8100 GIGANTIC STREET, OTAY MESA, CA 92154
Under the direction of the Dean, Higher Education Center at Otay Mesa, or designee, oversee and coordinate the operations of the complex EMT and Paramedic Skills Labs, Simulation Labs, and stockroom; perform complex technical work related to EMT and Paramedic programs including to prioritize, distribute, and coordinate labs assignments; and train, assign, and review the work assigned to students, teaching assistants and labs technicians.
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE: Any combination equivalent to: an Associate's degree in Emergency Medical Services or a closely related field and two years of recent work experience as a licensed paramedic using equipment that is the same as or comparable to equipment used by the Paramedic program at Southwestern Community College District.
LICENSE OR CERTIFICATE:
Successful completion of training as a First Responder in Handling Hazardous Materials Incidents.
California licensure, San Diego accreditation as a paramedic or equivalent training and experience that demonstrates a strong working knowledge of equipment currently used in the EMS lab.
Instructor level Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS), Pre-hospital Trauma Life Support (PHTLS), Pediatric Emergencies for Pre-hospital Providers OR Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PEPP/PALS).
SALARY & BENEFITS:
Range 30, Steps 1-6, $5,101.40-$6,204.03. Initial placement for external applicants is Step 1. An excellent benefits package which includes medical, vision, dental, retirement, vacation, generous sick leave package, and life insurance is available for the employee and eligible dependents.
WORKING DAYS & HOURS:
Monday-Friday: 8:00 a.m.-5:00 p.m. (Approximately). Work schedule may be adjusted to meet the needs of the office.
STARTING DATE: As soon as the successful candidate is identified and following the subsequent governing board approval.
